Pinoy LUG at the Collecticon 2014!

Collecticon 2014 may be a distant memory from a weekend before, but certainly it’s something of a big introduction to PinoyLUG (LEGO® Users Group) for the community’s second event, since their debut to promote “Family Day” at the Leaders Christian International School. But this time the group shows they are also passionate fans of the hobby as being part of this year’s Collecticon on its 7th year!

The display cabinets were provided by BanKee Trading the local distributors for the Gundam model kits by Japanese toy manufacturer Bandai, which also provided for the other local community groups who participated in this event.

For PinoyLUG the display is random collections from eight volunteers of this event. From the latest Tumbler that had an exclusive Joker portrayed by the Academy Award winner in Heath Ledger to the complete group of Dwarves from The Hobbit Trilogy directed by Peter Jackson.

There are a lot of bells and whistles in PinoyLUG’s debut as part of the group exhibitots for Collecticon 2014. If you look closely and did not blink you’ see the Ecto-1 along with the Ghostbusters while trying to recall the scene from Star Wars Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi where Luke Skywalker and Han Solo was about to be executed and pushed into the Sarlacc pit from Jabba the Hutt’s Sail Barge. There are also minifigures in acrylic displays organized for you to see them closely.

The centerpiece of the second glass cabinet is R2D2 and the astromech droid certainly can be seen immediately. The first cabinet has the Tumbler from the Dark Knight Trilogy. There are other assortments of LEGO® toys and they are definitely eye candy to those who just appreciates them for their pop culture references.

Collecticon 2014 was a two-day event and definitely you might not have missed PinoyLUG’s display as it caught some attention from neighboring collecting groups. There was enough conversation piece in these displays.

Its either you’re into DC Comics, Marvel, Star Wars, or the recent box office hit in The LEGO® Movie certainly family, friends, and some random convention visitor definitely snapped some photos for personal prosperity. It’s great to be an Adult Fan of LEGO® (AFOL) and you’re interested to be part of the community PinoyLUG will welcome you because this community is not just about collecting its about having fun.
